Trying to use a Linux based USB boot to install Debian on a partition.

I am running Windows 10 as my main OS (pre-installed) and would like to install Debian Linux on a 30 gb parition which has already been created.

I have created the USB boot which works on my older Asus ROG laptop (after amending boot sequence in BIOS) and loads up the installation as intended, however on my new HP Omen I have changed the boot sequence and then disabled the 'Secure Boot' feature but even after doing this the system continues to load Windows 10.

Could someone please assist in how I can effectively implement a boot sequence from the USB to commence the installation of Debian (which I intend on having as a multiboot OS)

I'm sorry, but HP does not provide support for Linux distros -- including boot and installation issues.

IF you replace the preloaded Windows OS with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Modern PCs with UEFI, instead of the older BIOS, are especially difficult to install because you have to go into the UEFI settings and make several changes before you can even boot from a USB stick -- and we are unable to assist in that work.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.

I have a different partition which I intend on using to do the install on. 

Such a shame that this new beast of a laptop which I have spent a lot of money is not capable of a simple feature an older laptop is capable of doing being that having the ability to load from a USB.

Newer laptops have UEFI, Secure Boot, and many, no Legacy option.

Older laptops have BIOS. no Secure Boot, and default Legacy option.

You are comparing two different Generations of equipment.
