I have a HP ProBook 4540s which currently has windows 8 installed.
I want to install windows 10 (full installation not upgrade).
I was having problems in removing the restore partition so I entered the BIOS using the Esc key then entering the BIOS settings and enabling legacy mode.
On saving the changes and rebooting the computer I used the Esc F9 key to display the boot options which displayed prior to my making any changes. But this doesn't work.
The message that I get on the screen is
Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk
Hard Disk - (3F0)
F2 System Diagnostics
For more information, please visit: www.hp.com\go\techcenter\startup
Instead, the system now automatically enters the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI page and no matter which keys I press both during boot and after the above screen apears I am unable to return the the boot menu.
I have trawled this forum and man others to try to find a solution with no success as all suggested solutions do not seem to work.
I would appreciate any help that you could suggest.

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.
3F0 error appears due to the Secure Boot/Legacy mode misconfiguration in BIOS. You should enter the BIOS to fix the problem. And you should not delete your restore/recovery partition because doing so might render your PC unbootable.
There must be some way to enter Esc/F10 again - I have tested this scenario of yours on 2 HP PCs and it worked fine during my tests. Note , it is F10 that you need, not F9
Completely turn off the PC
Press the power on button and doing so immedially start hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap) with energy.
Or try hitting F10 directly. PC should boot into BIOS. You should either restore BIOS settings to default (load defaults and save) or just touch the Secure boot settings
