Unable to load dban

HP Notebook - 17
Linux

I am trying to load dban on my computer, for some reason it doesn't work properly, heres what I've already done to try to make it work. I've disabled safe boot, Tried legacy boot, I tried looking under boot devices and I've tried multiple different flash drive burners for the iso, including the iso burner the dban website recommended.

Are you tapping away at the Esc key after powering on to halt boot and open the startup menu where you tap F9 to select boot device?
