Hi @Munesh21,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing a challenging situation with your HP laptop, where the built-in keyboard isn't working, and the USB keyboards aren't functioning during a crucial restart to enable VT (Virtualization Technology). Here are some steps you can try.

External Keyboard Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure that the USB port you are using for the external keyboard is functional. Try plugging the keyboard into different USB ports.
  • Test the USB keyboard on another computer to make sure it's working properly.
  • If your USB keyboard requires special drivers, check if you can install them on another computer before connecting it to your HP laptop.

BIOS/UEFI Settings (VT Enable):

  • VT (Virtualization Technology) is usually enabled or disabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • To access BIOS/UEFI, you typically need to press a key during the initial boot sequence. Common keys include Esc, F1, F2, F10, or Del. Try pressing one of these keys repeatedly as soon as you turn on your laptop.
  • Without functional keyboards, this can be challenging. In some cases, pressing and holding the key before turning on the laptop might work.

Resetting BIOS/UEFI to Default:

  • If you are able to access the BIOS/UEFI settings, try resetting them to default. This might resolve any configuration issues causing the USB keyboards not to work.

External USB Hub:

  • If you have a USB hub, try connecting your USB keyboard through the hub. Sometimes, direct connections may face issues.

Hardware Reset:

  • Shut down your laptop and disconnect all external devices.
  • Remove the laptop battery (if removable) and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Hold the power button down for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter and try turning on the laptop.

Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:

  • If possible, check the HP support website for BIOS/UEFI updates. Updating the BIOS/UEFI might resolve compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
