Product: HP 15 TO Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My computer was stuck in a look where if would try to fix itself get to 100% on step 3 and start all over again and this lasted for about 4 hours before I stoped in and went to try and fix it myself but when I went to the menu after several attempts and went to proforma a quick system test the Hard drive short DST check failed and gave me the error ID of  U0EFGF-7ARAG6-XD7V7F-60Q303. I haven't been able to find anything on this and I want to save my laptop if possable, I don't have money for replacement parts and I need the data on my laptop. What's wrong with it?

You will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

 

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

 

You may want to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

 

After you replace the drive you can reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool from the link below.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option.

 

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
