I have the same model as well, with the same problem...
It took about 3 months to get a replacement laptop the first time (and I got lucky).
After 2 months of use or so with the replacement one. Same issue again...
I am glad this is not an issue with my setup, but still...

There's clearly a design fault with the ZBook Studio G8 if there are a few of us with the same issue. Who knows how many others have this issue who haven't reported it here?
Hemmersbach arranged to send an engineer on Tuesday afternoon to replace the motherboard. I received an e-mail from them on Tuesday at 2pm to say that there was an unexpected shortage of parts, and the motherboard is not expected from HP till 19th July. Today I received a courtesy call from HP to ask if the repair was successful..... I explained what had happened and that a few others had reported the same issue, and she said she'd take it up with level 2 to find out if this was a common occurrence. HP really need to start taking this seriously as it's costing me in time every day when I plug my ZBook in, and also when they repair it as I have to back everything up again. It's also costing them money in replacement parts and engineers from a third party, but it will also cost them future custom if they can't put this right.

Just now I had another call from HP customer service to ask if the repair had been completed 🙄 Each time they phone, I have to explain the history because they don't seem to take notes.

The latest in this saga. HP tried phoning last week while I was on holiday, then sent me an e-mail to say they had the part to repair the laptop and would like to repair it on 2nd August. I backed up my laptop but nothing happened on 2nd. I had another call yesterday to apologise, saying that the part would only be in stock in the first week of September. I asked what this part was, and they said it was a graphics card. I've already had the motherboard and battery replaced so let's see what happens!
The guy I spoke to says this fault has occurred on other ZBooks but it's a very low percentage. If the graphics card doesn't resolve it, they will offer a replacement laptop with at least the same spec, or a full refund.
One more thing I've noticed is that if I put the laptop to sleep but leave it plugged in all night, it still won't boot up in the morning despite never being on battery. At least I've now found a process which almost always works:
1. Boot up on battery
2. Shut down
3. Hold the power button for several seconds, then release
4. Wait for lights next to power cable to stop flashing, then plug in the power
5. Wait for steady orange or white light next to power cable, then press the power key

Hi All
This is a hardware or bios software error
I am having the similar problem
I found a solution like this, every evening I unplug the power cord and Type-C cable, my computer starts normally in the morning
But it does not turn on when the power cable or Type-C cable is attached, I press the power button for 30 seconds and turn it on.
HP needs to find a solution to this immediately.
Guys in the technical service should stop acting like robots.
