Hi, im trying to go into the BIOS but its asking for a password and idk it. I bought this laptop used. It always tells me to press power to restart. ill be grateful if I can get some help!

try to find a dissassambly video and remove the cmos battery that will reset your bios and you will be fine. gotta place the battery back after removing it of course. so take it out wait 5 seconds and put it back in. then you can assemble the laptop again and you should be totally fine

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.  Removing the CMOS battery will not do a thing to clear the P/W.
