I also have this same issue. I have reset the BIOS with no change I have conducted the HDD test and it has returned this message
SMART Check : PASSED
Short DST : FAILED
FAILURE ID : UAKT19-6RX98N-MFPWXF-60SL03
PRODUCT ID : F2U56EA#ABU
Hard Drive 1
The laptop is model: 15-e081sa
The HDD is a WD10JPVX (1TB)
Booting up with a Linux live usb I could interigate the drive which would indicate that the drive is working.
Anyone able to help me here? Please?

What astonishing tech support activity! But we weren't born yesterday...
If the person or thing s.o. wants does not come to him, he must make the effort to attain what he wants himself (in Russian version: If the mountain won't come to Muhammad (Mohammed etc), Muhammad must go to the mountain)
The solution is very simple.
PC - it's just a piece of iron (fortunately for now). What he want and what him need? For UEFI - hard disk partition in GPT (!!!). For LEGACY - MBR&NTFS. In these points is the key to the solution.
Note: Your HD must pass internal diagnostic tests without errors.
Otherwise, you need to replace HD. And after the replacement, give the system what it asks. Depending on the selected download method.
For using UEFI in the network have many images secure boot for different models notebooks (nnmclub.to, rutracker.org)
But I don't use UEFI. I like "Legacy". Solution for this case (tests passed): Clear BIOS (turn off the battery), remove the hard drive and formating it into GPT on another computer. BIOS will see HD. In the BIOS turn off UEFI. First boot - CD-DVD (I did not try with a flash drive). And go...
I have to admit that W8-8.1 will be optimal for my model. But I hate this similarity WinVista.
I managed to install W10-LTSB on it, modifying the look and functionality, but this is another story.
Good luck to all.

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I see that you have performed a hardware test which failed with an error code. This indicates a possible hardware failure with the PC.
Just wanted to check if you have made a note of the failure code, If you haven't please try to run an extensive test on the Hard drive from F2(Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance).
Depending on the test results, I would suggest this to be a possible hardware failure with the notebook. I will share you a private message with details. Please watch your inbox for more information.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂
