Hi @Gamerdud56 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've disabled secure boot and attempted to access the boot menu using the F12 key at startup without success, there are a few things you can try:

Check Boot Menu Key: Ensure that F12 is the correct key for your laptop's boot menu. Some laptops may use different keys such as Esc, F2, F10, or Del. Check the laptop's manual or documentation to confirm the correct key for accessing the boot menu.

Fast Startup:

  • Boot into Windows.
  • Open the Control Panel.
  • Navigate to "Power Options."
  • Click on "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left.
  • Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable."
  • Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)."
  • Save changes and restart.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Access the BIOS/UEFI settings during the boot process (usually by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del).
  • Check for any additional settings related to boot options.
  • Ensure that the boot order is correctly configured to prioritize the USB  over the internal hard drive.

USB/DVD Bootable Media:

  • If you are trying to boot from a USB or DVD, ensure that it is properly created and recognized as a bootable device.
  • Test the bootable media on another computer if possible.

Re-enable Secure Boot:

  • Sometimes, disabling Secure Boot can prevent certain boot options. Try enabling Secure Boot and see if it allows you to access the boot menu.

Update Drivers/Firmware:

  • Check for any driver or firmware updates related to the boot process on the laptop's HP website.

Reset BIOS/UEFI to Defaults:

  • In the BIOS/UEFI settings, look for an option to reset settings to default or optimized settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
