HP ENVY Laptop - 17m-cg0013dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I did a system reset where I formatted the drive so everything would be new and when it was rebooting to finish I got this error......

--------------

Windows failed to start etc. etc.

File: \efi\microsoft\recovery\bcd

Status: 0x000014c

Info: The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors.

-------------

1. I did the F2 System Diagnostics-all good

2. I disabled the secure boot.

3. I have tried reinstalling with a bootable USB made by MediaCreationTool20H2.exe

and

4. I have tried reinstalling with a bootable USB with Win10_20H2_v2_English_x64.iso written by Rufus

all with the same result.

5. I have also tried to rebuild the BCD 3 or 4 times. It doesn't work. It says it did but it did not.

 get

So now unfortunately I no longer can push F11 for System Recovery.

All I can do is F9 to pick where to boot from.

I'm pretty sure Windows is installed for the mot part I just can't get to it.

This laptop is pretty new and I just got it back from HP Service where they replaced the fan.

I got a BSOD error the first hour I had it so I did the system reset.

Who would think a "simple" system reset would be such a problem.

It is still under warranty.

Help. I really don't want to send it away again.

I did. We tried to make recovery media using HP Cloud recovery but the process fails with a "NotFoundStorage - 0xC00409 is that USB drive is lost" error right before it is finished. So they are sending me a box to send the computer back to be fixed.
