g71-340us wont power on. power light flashes 4 slow flashes when power button pushed

g71-340us

When I plug power cord into computer the led at port stays on couple seconds then goes off.  And when I push power button or wifi button or touch pad buttons the lightning bolt light on front of computer flashes four times slow flashes.  Then after if I push power button it flashes three quick flashes from then on.  No other lights flash and no beeps.  Totally unresponsive computer.  Tried hard reset didn't help.  Computer does nothing with battery out and just power plugged in.  Tried reseating memory nothing helped.  Can't find definite light code chart for my model.  Please help

Hi @pauldbundy,

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I understand that you have issues firing up your HP notebook and have tried a lot of troubleshooting to fix the issue. I’ll be glad to assist you with this.

You’ve done an excellent job on troubleshooting the issue from your end. Kudos to you on that score. It is always a privilege to work with technical specialists like you. I see that you’ve tried a hard reset and reseating the memory modules as well. Brilliant job! Hats off!

It technically looks like a hardware issue with the computer. Please visit this link to check the light code charts: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674

At this point, I would request you to contact HP phone support by visiting this link http://hp.com/contacthp and following the on-screen instructions to get the unit serviced.

.

Please let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope that the issue gets resolved without hassles. Thanks for being a part of the HP community and if you require further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help. If you wish to say thanks for my effort to help, click the "Thumbs up" to give me a "Kudos" and also please mark it as “Accepted Solution” if this helps.

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.
