The source of the problem is perhaps that the computer lacks a Fingerprint reader.

What?

The fingerprint reader is an OPTION -- not all computers have the sensor included in the hardware.

The driver is worthless without the hardware installed inside the computer.

If your computer does have the fingerprint reader sensor, it will be listed in the Device Manager.

Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager

Tab View

Check Show hidden devices

Select Devices by Type

Open Biometric devices
