Unit fails to boot - hard drive fails DST Test with following FAILURE ID: 0TXN2F-8AM9R1-XD7X6K-60VH03. HP instructs you write down code but has no information on their website. Is my drive dead or is this code instructing me todo something.

Hi:
The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider purchasing a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 using the cloud recovery client utility.
Here is an info link for how to use that utility.

Now there is one thing about the above. It may not work unless you buy a replacement drive of the same capacity as the original one.
If you go with a smaller size SSD, and the cloud recovery tool doesn't work, then you can reinstall W10 using the media creation tool from the link below to create an 8 GB USB flash drive installer.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
