last month, my laptop suddenly auto scrolling while I'm reading website page and while typing it suddenly jump at the first word i type at that line. but when i click another button on my keyboard, it became normal. then automatically scrolling again after a few minutes later.
I've tried troubleshoot, disable, update & reinstall the keyboard, mouse and touchpad, but still no solution, my laptop still uncontrollable scrolling automatically. suddenly, my laptop sound weird beepp like sound of electricity while my laptop scrolling automatically.
i ask computer hardware store abt this problem, they said it's the driver problems and need to format. and after format, my laptop will be okay.

I have gone through your post and I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue
I suggest you run a Touchpad Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Touchpad
If all the Tests pass then you can go for the Reset. Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289
