Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Since this is a New Notebook, there will be a lot of windows updates happening and could cause the system to lag/freeze. However, let us run a system test to check if the hardware components are in good condition.

Step 1: Use HP Support Assistant to tune the PC

  1. Download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant for free.

  2. Open HP Performance Tune-up , and then follow the prompts to improve computer performance.

If the tool does not automatically open, search for and open HP Support Assistant. Select your product, click Troubleshooting and fixes, and then click Performance Tune-up check.

  3. Also, check for updates on HP Support Assistant.

  4. Click here to watch a video of the same.

Step 2: Run a System test

Click here to watch a video as how to run a system test.

Also, check for any pending windows update manually.

Click on the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Let me know how this goes.

I'm sorry, I can't accept your solution because despite I did everything you said, this damned laptop continues to freeze randomly very frequent, making me crazy.

  • What was the result of the system test? Did all the test pass?
  • If all the test passed and you got no error, we will have to re-install the Operating system.
  • Back up the data on your PC before proceeding to reset the PC
  • Follow the steps mentioned in this document to perform a System Reset in Windows.

Keep me posted.
