HP ENVY
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was watching youtube when my 3 months old laptop (HP Envy) just suddenly shut off and does not power on again anymore. No battery indication light, no spinning fun or anything else. The laptop was connected to the wall socket when it happened. About 30 minutes before the issue the laptop got windows 10 update.

Hello @ilusnaine

Welcome !

Please, review the HP official article/guide about such issues you experience now. Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue:

If you did try everything from the guide but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

I did not understand the reason why my laptop suddenly powered off and I could not to power it on again for three days as it was completely dead. It was not overheated, and the battery was fully charged plus it was connected to the wall socket when I watched movie on youtube. Also, no new devices were connected. Today I tried to power the laptop on once more and it powered on as usual. The HP Hardware Diagnostic software did not find any problems. So, I am completely confused.

Anyway, I do appreciate for the advice given to me regarding the aforementioned issue.  My thanks to IT_WinSec.

You are welcome @ilusnaine

But if you face the issue again (only if you face it again) , check these:

Article for the majority of the hardware reasons for a PC to turn off unexpectedly - could be motherboard, battery, overheating, etc....

Besides hardware issues, there is a very common/known issue (software/firmware related)   and is about   Intel MEI driver - common for your PC model.

Here is more info, please read them and follow the steps:

... https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Shutdown-issue-on-Windows-10/td...

... https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/the-answer-to-windows-10-shut-do...

Common solution (if you use W10) is to downgrade Intel MEI to version 9.5 (not use newer versions) and stick the version to 9.5

Hope this works for you, Let me know how it goes.
