Hi, i have a hp notebook, which I use to study and online classes. It was working fine until today when I woke up to use it didn't, and instead, it kept turning on and off, like the screen turns on and immediately shuts off. but I can clearly hear the HDD and fan are spinning. I tried to swap HDD between this and another laptop it didn't work the same problem plz help asap

Hi,

Do any leds flash or anything else?

Have you tried connecting to an external TV/monitor?

Is the charging led on?

You could try a hard reset

I would also try reseating the RAM modules.

Let us know,

David

Hi, lomar. thank you for your time I would answer your questions separately.

1. yes the charging LEDs do indeed light as normal and on the battery shows it's led

2.yes I connected it to a monitor with HDMI but the monitor doesn't seem to recognize the laptop as when I set up source as pc it tells me no connection which is odd

3.yes as I said the charging led do indeed work

other details are :

first, I unplugged the battery connector to the motherboard and plugged it again as my other Lenovo laptop fell into the same issue but thankfully this method worked on it, but not in hp's case

2. I changed the thermal paste of the CPU because I suspected overheating issue since this laptop is quite old but no help

3. I disassembled everything from the motherboard from ram sticks and HDD and CMOS battery everything but still no help

another piece of information is it isn't an os problem since it doesn't post and i can't access the bios
