my laptop wont fully shutdown or reastart or wake up from the sleep mode.

HP Recommended
Pavilion dv6-2131el
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

Im hawing trouble maybe you can help me on this one. My laptop wont reboot, shutdown, when it go on sleep mode with screen off cant wake him up from it.

I also did try when reinstalling windows after formated complety HDD and installing frash new windows (thinking maybe its virus), when the part comes that needs to be restarted in order to complete instalation of windows it does it several times (restart) by it's own (automaticly), every single time i need to pull out the power cable so it go's off and to start him again so it resume on installation (not virus problem).

So in all my computer wont shut down completly, it can go by its own at shutingdown till the part whne the screen go's black but light at the back is still on and also small leds are indicating that the computer is on and it wont go fully off only screen go's off idk why please help me on that one. And i did try to pull out from the matherboard keyboard, touchpad, usb ports, power panel and batery then i power it on and i try to restart it or to do shutdown it wont go completly off ... help 😞

And last thing it also get stuck sometimes when its turning on at the part when the windows logo shows, then i need to pull out the kable and to turn it on again and again untill it go pass that part then it turns on just fine complete.

Best regards,

moonstrainger

Hi @moonstrainger,

Thank you for posting in the HP Forums.

I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion dv6-2131el Notebook and not fully shutting down or Waking from sleep Mode. You could  try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix any updates that have not come through for Windows.

Please restart the Notebook twice to make sure all update have been completed!

Please let me know the results or error messages.

All of that is not the case and i did all of that the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool , i did install all the ubdates all the drivers and all.

As i told while i whose doing reinstalatinon of my windows 7 64bit (which is complete original also) and u know when you are installing windows from nothing (after formating HDD) computer in the instalation process needs to do the restarts automaticly several times in order to do the instalation and also there it wont fully do restart on its own it comes at the part of shuting down black screen but lights still on and it ownt go off i need to do manuely to pull out the power cable so it go's off then i turn it back on and it goes on with instalation of windows like as if it were restarted. im just so desperate. 😞 something else to try ?

Hi @moonstrainger,

Did you try the Windows tool?

As it could fix registry issues and point to other issues.

If no, you could always take the Notebook to a repair center for component testing.

Thanks.

I did the windows repear tool. it asked me to do it when it blocks on windows logo when it wont turn fully on and i restart him with power cable and then it asks me to do the windows repear (recomended) or to start windows normaly and it didnt help it did finish tho ... i also did update then bios still nothing.

also here at montenegro i dont trust repear guys with my computer cos they are not capeble to repear anything cos one time when my computer whos simply stuffed with dust and it whose turining off by its own cos of temperature in the computer they told me i need to buy new motherboard and that whos not the truth. i opened and cleaned and it whos working like new and they wonted me to trick me on to buying new motherboard.... at the price of 500 eurs. Here all technitions are fraudsters...
