Hi @Piyushh1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion laptop is showing a "hard drive not found" error, it usually indicates a problem with the hard drive or its connection. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve the issue.

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and press the Esc key (or F10 on some models) repeatedly to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Go to the Storage or System Configuration tab and check if the hard drive is detected.
  • If the hard drive is not listed, it might be a connection issue or a faulty drive.

Reseat the Hard Drive:

  • Turn off the laptop and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Open the back panel of the laptop (refer to your laptop’s manual for instructions).
  • Locate the hard drive and ensure it's securely connected to the motherboard. If it seems loose, re-seat it and tighten any screws holding it in place.

Run Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Many HP laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools. Restart the laptop and press Esc or F2 to access the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool.
  • Run a test on the hard drive to check for errors or failures.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • If you're comfortable doing so, you can remove the hard drive and check for any visible damage.

Update BIOS:

  • Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hard drive detection issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
