HP Pavillion x360 m Convertible 14m-ba114dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have my HP Pavillion x360 model 14m-ba114dx and it does have already a 128gb m.2 ssd stick installed already but I would like to add in a 2.5" SSD, but for some reason, the SSD does not show up in my Disk Management. I have the SATA cable for it as well but would like to know is it a universal SATA cable or does HP use a specific one? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

It has

128 GB M.2 Solid State Drive which is also a SATA drive

Yes, you can add 2.5" HDD or SSD to your machine. Please check the connector and reseat it again. Do you have anything on it ?

Regards.

Hello,

I have tried to reseat the connector to the board but it still doesn't show up. Is this ribbon cable port for HDD disabled by default on the board?

I fixed the issue.

Turns out it was the ribbon cable used. It has to be a specific model cable for it to work. I've tried several different ones before finding the one that actually worked...
