HP Pavilion g6-2211sr Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! Would you kindly help me? Have UP 2211sr notebook, does it support 8gb ram in one module? I see in service guide that it supports 8gb ram total. Is it only 2x4gb configuration or one 8gb should work?

Hi:

According to the manual, the notebook will only support a 4 GB memory bar in each slot.

If the notebook supported an 8 GB memory bar in each slot, HP would have set the max memory specs at 16 GB.

You can do this to confirm how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank you so much for your support! HP brings disappointment, there are no compability test lists or recommended ram configurations =( Only community support. Have a nice day!
