Hello,
I want to replace the Intel AC-7260 wifi card for my HP Probook 640 G1 laptop. It keeps disconnecting with most modern routers and I couldn't find any working fix (drivers, settings, etc.). And I've tried hard to make it work!
So, I really want to replace it and I'm wondering which card to buy.
I have found that the Fenvi MPE-AXE3000H or the Intel AC-8265HMW would be good fits for the mini PCIe (HMW) form factor, but I'm reading that they probably wouldn't work on HP laptops.
So, is there a way to make the AXE3000H or the AC-8265 work with my laptop? If not, what other card could I install that would work well with modern routers?
Thank you!

I just installed this one in my HP 350 G1 notebook.
It's pretty expensive in Canada.
The US site has it for $28 USD = 15% off if you check the coupon box.
Over the years, I upgraded from the stock Broadcom BCM943228HMB to the Intel 7260 AC and now to the card above:
Works perfectly.
Took 5 minutes to uninstall the Intel 7260 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers and software, shut down the PC, unplug it, remove the battery, remove the 7260, pop in the AX210 and fired it up.
I downloaded the latest drivers for it from the Intel website, but W10 installs the Wi-Fi driver automatically and after a few minutes, windows update installs the Bluetooth driver, which first appears as an Unknown device in the device manager.
P.S: I have no idea what that metal plate is for.
I didn't need it and I didn't use it.

Great news! I'm happy to read that it's working even though most sellers write something like "but do not support all IBM/Thinkpad/Lenovo/HP laptops". So, I'll buy one and try it.
Thank you for your quick and kind reply! 🙂
