I Have a HP ENVY 15 J037TX,

Questions :-

01. Can I use 128GB mSATA SSD for primary OS boot drive ?

02. Can I install OS directly to mSATA SSD (128GB) -without using clone software

03. I heard about capacity of mSATA slot 24GB and 32GB, then can I use more capacity mSATA SSD (128GB)

Hi,

The slot is designed as a cache slot, for accelerating a mechanical HDD in the notebook.

You can insert a larger SSD such as a 120GB or more and use it as extra storage. But, I do not believe you can use it as a boot drive.

The best idea is to replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as the Samsung 860 Evo or Crucial MX500 or something similar.

Hope it helps,

David
