I want to add a second drive to a recently purchased EliteBook 650 G10 #7Z253UT#ABA that didn't come with a WWAN card in the slot.  There is an WWAN slot that is used for WWAN or SSD2.   In different posts on this site,  I have seen conflicting reports.  Some say you can install a NVME 2230 or 2242 size SSD directly, others say you need a "Solid-state drive support kit N00354-001"  'which is unavailable or out of stock.

Does anyone know if a second SSD will work directly in that slot without any adapter?

In this post linked here, user TzortzisG   said he used an OWC brand Aura P13 (2242) 2TB drive without adapter it seems.  Oops when posting it wouldn't let me put the link in so it can be found googling "hp Questions/EliteBook-650-G10-secondary-SSD/td-p/8997117".  TzortisG, if you happen to see this can you verify as I do not know how to message you on this forum.

@laptopuser20,

Looking at those two posts below, it appears that you need an NVMe SSD 2242 not 2230 for your secondary M.2 slot.

This person reported that an NVMe 2230 worked but was too short and he was going to order a 2230 to 2242 extender.

This author reported a successful installation of an NVMe 2242 in the secondary slot.

The difference between EB 650 and 640 is basically a screen size (15" vs 14"), and those two persons' findings should apply to your model.
