15-CS2073CL
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased an HP 15-CS2073CL laptop. It came with a 1TB hard drive. I also purchased and installed a 500 GB SSD (https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p1/ct500p1ssd8/ct14697947). I followed all of the instructions step by step and was able to get the laptop up and running with the SSD installed and the 1TB drive removed. Ideally I would like to boot from the SSD and use the 1TB drive as additional storage, but I could not figure out a way to set up this configuration. Is it possible to run this configuration and what should I be doing? Thanks for any help in advance

Hi:

Chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual indicates that dual storage configurations are available.

Naturally, these are configured at the factory.

If the OS is still on the 1 TB hard drive, I believe that the notebook will always want to boot from the hard drive first.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to purchase a SATA to USB cable, plug the 1 TB HDD in to a working PC's USB port and format the drive.

Then see if you can use it for storage.
