HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0013dx

Hello,

I’m wondering if I can replace an M.2 SATA NGFF SSD (3 slots of pins) with a M.2 NVME SSD (2 slots of pins) in my laptop? Will it fit in the slot?

Hi:

Yes, the model series supports NVMe SSD's.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types:

I don't see where SATA M.2 SSD's were even supported in the model series.

Hi:

The first one is supported, the second one is not.

But I would go with the newer Samsung 980:

it's weird cause i got the second one with my laptop... hmmm

That is definitely weird.

What's the model number of the SSD HP installed?

There are a couple of NVMe SSD's that have two notches.

Very rare.
