Backlit Keyboard Timeout Settings

HP Pavilion - 15-au111tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there a way to enable timeout for keyboard backlight (backlight turns off if you don't press any key for few minutes). Backlight stays on when I enable it by pressing F5 key. Thanks

Backlit Keyboard Timeout Settings

Hi! @kanz

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand you need to know whether you have the option to timeout backlit keyboard on your laptop.

I checked the specifications of your laptop and your laptop does not have that feature.

The only option you have is to enable or disable the backlit keyboard.

However, there are few laptops which have the option to change timeout settings in BIOS.

I am not sure about your laptop but you try the following steps.

Boot into the BIOS (F10)

Go to Advanced > Built-In device Options
scroll to the bottom
Choose from:
  5 secs.
  15 secs.
  30 secs.
  1 min.
  5 mins.
  Never

I will watch for your reply.

Cheers!:-)

Backlit Keyboard Timeout Settings

I just purchased a model 17m-ce0013dx.

The backlight goes off after just a few seconds. No setting in the BIOS setup. Can my timeout be adjusted on this model?

Thanks in advance.
