When I switch my laptop off the battery is at 100% but when I switch it back on again the battery is always less than 100%, sometimes as low as 75%. What is using my battery when my laptop is switched off?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is draining when the computer is turned off.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If you continue facing the issue, then reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under the device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!

Spoke too soon, still having the same problem after updating the bios.
I have reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery as you suggested so will have to wait and see if the issue has been resolved or not.
