Battery Replacement HP Spectre Folio Convertible

My $1500 leather-bound spectre folio has developed a problem with the keyboard (space bar won't reliably work) and touchpad (won't click). After researching the problem extensively, I have discovered that the battery is actually exploding and deforming the laptop. You can visually see the deformation of the case near the keyboard and clickpad. This apparently has been an issue with this line of notebooks for a long time now. Is there a way to replace the battery on this model? I won't be buying another HP notebook if there is no way to fix this known problem. The warranty period is simply too short to discover the defect, and I feel like HP should stand behind its products. I spent too much money on this notebook to have such a short life-span. I really loved the product otherwise. So, is there a way to affordably replace the battery? Can a consumer make the repair?

According to your Spectre's Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06161497.pdf, I must point out that there is a possibility that your laptop may have an alternate battery installed:

After reviewing the video clip, I revised my opinion about changing out the battery kit.  It looks it is doable.
