Hello,

I bought my laptop that is HP pavillion gaming 15 series in March 2022. Few days back battery status as shown by Hp support assistant was failed. So recently I got my battery replaced. Few things I wanted to confirm:

1. Even after getting battery replaced the battery backup is 2.5 hours only given that my laptop is in power efficiency mode and I am not doing any high power consumption tasks like video editing and gaming.

2. What things I need to keep in mind to make my battery last longer?

3. What is this concept of battery's cycle counts, I mean if I keep my laptop connected with the charger always, the battery count will decrease much slowly thus making the battery last longer.( IDK if this is right, I read it somewhere just wanted to confirm).

Thank you.

Hi:

I can only provide an answer to your second question and have an opinion about your third question.

See this link for how to get the most life out of your notebook's battery:

Yes, theoretically, less cycle counts = longer battery life.

However, if you were to leave the notebook plugged into A/C power 24/7/365 that will leave the battery in a constant 100% charge state which could lead to battery swelling.

Best to not always leave the battery in a constant 100% charge state.
