Battery charger

HP Recommended
Specter x360 2 in 1

I plugged it in and smoke and flames were coming out of the computer where the charger plugs in.  I managed to pull out the charger but dropped it and burned a hole in my carpet.  I had to throw the charger outside in the dirt to get the fire out.  Is my laptop trashed or would a new charger work?  I got it for Christmas in 2019 so it's not under warranty.  It was an expensive laptop to last less than two years
