@gjk2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps and check.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Initially Thanks for your reply.

Concerning the proposed solution to run a BIOS update I am afraid that this is a risky process taking in to account that I have no battery backup and sometimes the laptop is turning down with the power supply connected.

Concerning the second solution I run sometimes the battery “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device uninstall process, but without solution. I did it in parallel uninstalling also the “Microsoft AC Adapter" device.

Also I run the "Hp Pc hardware diagnostics UEFI" and the result is that the Ac charger is OK and the battery is faulty, but still I feel that this is not absolutely correct taking in to account  that the battery charging is to low (0% or 1%) and this happened suddenly from one day to the other .

Concluding I feel that the problem is not the battery or is not only the battery, but also something is wrong with the charging circuit of the motherboard and I try to find if there is a test process that covers the above said portion of the motherboard (charging portion).

Thanks for one more time,

Friendly

@gjk2,

I would like to inform you that there is no test to check whether the charging circuit is working fine. I recommend you try updating the BIOS and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you contact support to further diagnose the issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with tech support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
