Battery does not charge

HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible, W2K44UA#ABA

Ever since the most recent major update to Windows 10 the battery no longer charges. I have tried the suggested fix of uninstalling and reinstalling the battery and AC adapter but that has not fixed the issue. The support assistant  assistant check tells me that the battery is weak but functioning correctly. When running the Hardware Diagnostics test the test gets to 10% and stops saying it was cancelled leaving me with no other information.  This is not the first time I have had this issue following a major update last time it eventually fixed itself but I would like to know if it is the same thing this go round or if I need to finally replace the battery.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the HP battery. Hence, I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Yes I was eventually able to run the hardware diagnostics at boot before via pressing f2 and got the result of a hardware failure in the battery as a result of a blow fuse.
