Battery drain after shutdown

HP Recommended
Laptop - FU41BHNF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

Laptop Specifications

Device name - LAPTOP - FU41BHNF

Product Id - 00327-35847-98286-AAOEM

Windows Edition - Windows 10 Home Single Language

Version - 20H2

I purchased my laptop around one and half year back.  However from last 15 days, i am facing an issue related to power consumption which never ever occured. It's just that after shutdown, my laptop battery continues to drain no matter what.

For example - One night, I noticed my charge percent to be 45. And in morning, after switching on the laptop, i found the remaining charge to be 15 percent.

The charging time is usual though, no fast or slow charging, just in normal way. And while the laptop is powered on, still the battery drain is at normal/usual rate. No sign of draining fast/slow while working on laptop. Problem just persists in shut down mode.

Even after resetting the windows settings to default, nothing fruitful is happening.

Kindly help me in this regard as soon as possible as it's very disturbing.

Thankyou

I understand you are getting  Battery drain after shutdown

Don't worry I'll help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Is any Peripheralconnected to the USB port after shutdown?

Please perform the below-shown steps to resolve the issue:

Step 01. Click on the Start Button

Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager

Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left

Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall

Note: This Battery driver will get reinstalled automatically when you restart the Notebook again

Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook

Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter

Step 07. Press and hold the Power Button for a full 1 Minute

Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter

Step 09. Look for the "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon

Also, try performing a hard reset on your laptop and check if it helps.

Please Shutdown the Notebook

Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter

Press and hold the Power Button for a full 1 Minute

Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter

Look for the "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon.
