Battery draining very quickly.

HP Recommended

My laptop is not able to run on the battery alone for more than 5 minutes. Even though the batter shows about 95% charge remaining, within 5 mins it shows 67% and completely shuts down. The only way of using the laptop is to constantly connect to the power source. The battery health test on HP website states that my battery is OK but it doesn't seem to be OK.  Can someone tell me what is the solution to this problem and where do i go to get it fixed?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you try another charger?
  • Does the notebook shut down immediately (right after you unplug the charger)?
  • Do you get any error message on your notebook (Such as Plugged in, not charging, etc.)?
