Battery for OMEN 15-AX006NG
02-23-2021 02:17 PM

I need to replace the battery of my HP OMEN 15-AX006NG. The part number is HP 849910-850.
The store where I ordered the battery from wrongly sent a different battery: HP 905277-855.
They clame it is compatible, but I don't trust them. The two batteries differ by their voltage: 11.55V vs 15.4V.
Is the battery 905277-855 compatible with my laptop. Is there ANY disadvantage in using it instead of the original one?
Thanks for your help!

I can't find your machine on the following list (which shows 166 models):
https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=905277-855
But the series has 2 options
- 849910-850: 3 cell prismatic battery - 61.5 Whr (5360 mAh), for use with products with Intel 6th generation processors or Intel 7th generation processors with AMD Radeon hybrid graphics
- 905277-855: 4 cell polymer battery - 63.3 Whr (4175 mAh), for use with products with Intel 7th generation processors, not supported with AMD Radeon hybrid graphics
Therefore part # 905277-855 battery should work.

This is my machine: https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=W8Y63EA (also see https://support.hp.com/at-de/document/c05164461)
It has an Intel i7 processor and a Nvidia graphics card (you mentioned that only AMD should be a problem?).
