Thanks for the post.
I understand that the battery is not detected on your computer, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.
Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?
Recommend you reseat the battery and check.
If the issue persists, perform a hard reset on the computer.
- Disconnect the battery and power adapter from the computer.
- Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain any static on the computer.
- Connect the battery and adapter.
- Turn the computer On and check if the battery is detected.
If the issue persists, shut down the computer.
Wait for a minute.
Turn the computer On and keep tapping F10 repeatedly on startup to enter BIOS.
Restore the BIOS to defaults.
Save and Exit BIOS and check if the battery is detected.
If the battery is not detected, visit www.hp.com/drivers and enter the product number of your computer.
Download and install the latest BIOS on your computer.
If the battery is still not detected, the issue could be with the battery or the battery connector on your computer.
Replace the battery and check.
