Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an Envy 360 15 and when it was new, only a few months ago, the battery seemed to last about 6 hours or more. just recently, it seems to have dropped and only lasts about 2 hours. I haven't changed the way I use the pc or added any new software and it has had zero damage (I have taken excellent care of it). I read the battery info provided and follow it as closely as possible, including the initial charging protocol.

I have also run a system battery check and it indicates it's ok.

Any ideas of what caused this rather dramatic change in battery life or is this just expected after using it this long?
I'm also looking for suggestions on how long to charge, how much % to keep, when, if ever to fully drain or anything else that could be helpful in keeping my battery healthy. thanks

This seems to be normal battery behavior. Over time with usage the Battery will start holding less charge due to battery cell degrading which is normal as per designed.

The same can be observed on any electronic items using Lithium Ion Battery

As a precautionary measure I suggest you update the BIOS https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers and also run the Battery Test from F2 Diagnostic to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.

- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.

- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

As for your concerns " I'm also looking for suggestions on how long to charge, how much % to keep, when, if ever to fully drain or anything else that could be helpful in keeping my battery healthy. thanks", nowadays most if not all electronic items uses Lithium Ion Battery so you no longer have to worry about overcharging the battery and damaging the cells unnecessarily. By Default the battery stops charging at a certain point once it's full. But overtime the battery will hold less charge and that is a normal process by design

Thank you
