Also the laptop charges super fast and drains the battery very quickly too. I've run battery diagnostics in HP Support Center, and the battery status shows normal. Its been a week since I've started getting this problem.

I suggest that you use the Windows Battery Report utility and post the results here in your thread
See the article below that I wrote on how to invoke and use the utility.
The symptoms you are reporting would be of a battery near the end of its service life.
It should be replaced with a new battery.

Also its just been 2.5 years since i got this laptop, so the battery should work more acc. to me. And obviously its out of warranty period..
In case I have to get the battery replaced, what would the estimated cost be?
