Battery pic 1
Battery pic 2
So, recently my battery for my laptop is not performing well. I have made all the necessary to power setting but nothing is working. to to be clearer, my battery was performing as expected (good and holding charge etc) but now the laptop battery would be on 100% but after 30 mins or sometimes less the laptop shuts down without any warning. I have set the low battery setting at 30% warning but it never reaches that stage.
Therefore, I am providing the following pictures I took of the battery test today (21/01/2019).
The second problem is not necessarily a problem rather a query. Are the BIOS setting up-to-date? Therefore, I will also be a picture attached to show the current BIOS settings (21/01/2019).

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
After reading your post, I did go through the Bios version of your product and found that the latest Version of bios is: F.53 Rev.A
Let's try these steps in order to isolate battery issue:
Hard Reset:
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )
4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)
6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step
Set BIOS default and restart:
- Restart your notebook.
- During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
- Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
- Select Yes to confirm.
- Press F10 to save changes and exit.
- Select Yes to confirm.
- The computer restarts using the default settings.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for replying......
When I do start up the laptop and restore the BIOS settings:
1. This will automatically update to the latest version?
2. Will delete any of my personal data?
Can you please look at the next set of screenshots showing that I have downloaded the latest version but when installing these messages come up...........
If I go through the F10 set up the following will not be required?
start procedure
options
problem

Thank you for posting back.
Yes! To get the answer to this question, I did go through your post, once the software is downloaded it will install automatically when the installation process is initiated.
Note: I would request you to back all your personal files and data.
Hence, you can install bios update without any hassle.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Regarding the BIOS setting, I will have to get a hard drive to back up all personal data. In the meanwhile.....
The image attached shows the battery charged to 100% then unplugged the AC charger.
the percentage is on the tight followed by
the current time for the percentage and lastly
what the system had said for the time remaining
weird thing the laptop SHUTDOWN at 60%
I came to a conclusion, the laptop's battery is definitely not able to hold the official charge any suggestions?

@Stark_Legend
Thank you for posting back.
Let's run a hardware diagnostics test on battery:
Use the following steps to open the Component Tests menu.
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests.
- The Component Tests menu displays. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
- To run both tests simultaneously, in the Component Tests menu, click Power Source, and then click Run once. Each component can also be tested individually.
Battery Test:
Follow these steps to perform the Battery Test:
- In the Component Tests menu, click Power, and then click Battery.
- Click Run once. The Battery Test begins.
- When the battery test is complete, the results are displayed on the screen. For additional battery information, click Battery Details.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
