Hey @Jackie_92, Welcome to HP Support Community. 👋

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Notebook 15-da0081od is playing the "I'm plugged in but still hungry" 🍽️game. Let's get it back on track 🛤️with some troubleshooting steps!

The Classic Power Reset (Hard Reset)

  1. Unplug the charger.
  2. Remove the battery (if it's removable).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  4. Reinsert the battery and plug the charger back in.
  5. Turn on the laptop and check if it charges.

Check the Charger & Port

  • Wiggle the charger gently at the connection point. If the charging LED flickers or turns off/on, the port might be loose.
  • Try another power outlet.
  • If available, test with another HP-compatible charger.

Battery Driver Reset (Software Refresh)

  1. Right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Batteries and look for:
    • Microsoft AC Adapter
    • Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
  3. Right-click each and select Uninstall device (don’t worry, they reinstall on reboot).
  4. Restart your laptop and check if the issue is resolved.

Battery Status Check

  • HP Diagnostic Tool: Restart your laptop and tap F2 repeatedly to enter the HP Hardware Diagnostics menu.
  • Run a Battery Check to see if it detects any issues.

BIOS Update & Reset

  • Go to HP Support Page and check if there's a BIOS update for your model.
  • You can also reset BIOS settings by:
    1. Restarting the laptop and tapping F10 to enter BIOS.
    2. Press F9 to restore default settings, then F10 to save and exit.

I hope this helps. 🚀

Take care and have a good day. 🙂
