Hello, after few years of using my hp omen 16-c0xxx

I decided to clean it, by doing so i bent my heatsink a little, i do not have any temp raising but i got strong performance issues while playing.

Thermal paste it's not there at all anymore i will change it tomorrow,

Is this thermal paste issue or bented heatsink?

@Chefee,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

It doesn't really matter if the cooling ribs are bent a little bit -as long as you didn't flatten them so badly that it hinders airflow through the cooler.  What matters is that the part of your heatsink that installs directly above your CPU is straight and unbent.

Am I to assume that you installed your heatsink without thermal paste???

That is an absolute no-no: of course you'll see "performance issues" whilst playing games.

DO NOT turn on your PC without thermal paste.

Kind Regards,

Yeah, i installed heatsink back with the old thermal paste leftovers, didn't touch it.

The bent is small on a pipe which is separate for gpu, and for sure is not disturbing any airflow. I'm still waiting for my thermal paste delivery, i will update the post after i change the paste.

Thank you for your answer.

So i changed thermal paste,

Unfortunately performance problem is still there.

I got 33fps

60ms ping

And 99% of gpu usage

What to do? I'm out of the ideas.

Edit. 99% gpu usage even while idle
