CPU thermal throttling.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I am having some trouble with a brand new laptop (1 week of use). While idle, the CPU temps are usually between 60-70°C. When under heavy load, the temperature starts climbing up to 80°C. After reaching 80°C my CPU  frequency drops down to 0.19 GHz and stays this way for about 5 minutes. This is especially annoying when playing games, knowing that I used to play the same games on a much weaker laptop. What is the cause of this issue and how can I possibly fix it ? I've already tried underclocking and disabling turbo boost.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the CPU is thermal throttling when you play games.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

The computer that you have is not designed for gaming and this is expected behavior. However, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
