I upgrade the RAM to 8g. The computer recognized 8g but  at the computer properties pop-up window shows 8g( 3.75 usable). I find out that the hardware reserve took 4.358 g already . Is there anyway to reduce this hardware reserve number . I already followed 2  popular methods shown at websites , youtube(s)  ( i.e msconfig,  or advanced system..)  it still dose not work. Note that I used the memory recommended by Crucial ( link form HP support )

I do not know what to do now. Please help if you can .

Thanks

Tom

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Have you tried checking the RAM storage data on your OLD ram?
  • Have you tried with different RAM?
  • Could you please share the picture of the RAM storage?.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
