Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The webcam on my laptop is not working. The light will come on to indicate that the camera is on, but there is no image shown. It does not work in the camera app, or in Zoom or Teams.

Some things I have tried  - making sure my Kaspersky virus program was not blocking webcam access. This has been turned off. Also updated the camera driver in Device Manager - but it says it is up to date and working. Also made sure camera privacy settings were not interfering.

I was going to attempt to uninstall and reinstall the driver, but I am nervous about reinstalling it. When I visited the driver downloads page from HP for my specific laptop, none of the drivers listed were for camera. Where can I find the camera drive to download again? I previously had trouble with my touchpad and was able to reinstall the driver from the HP website, but I don't see the camera driver available.

Please check to be sure the lens is not covered. My machine has a slide which is piece of plastic to cover its front.

Hi,

There is no cover.

I should clarify - this laptop is a year old and the camera was working previously. It stopped working sometime in the last week or so. My daughter uses it for online school and can no longer get the webcam to work for her online classes.
