Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Envy X360 15t-W000 HP laptop.  According to the manual the laptop has the capacity for a M.2 SSD as well as the standard HDD. When I ordered the laptop I oriignal oredered the HDD version.  I wanted to add an SSD to improve performance and would rather add m.2 SSD for better speed.

I opened the laptop to check and found the space for the m.2 SSD and what I believe are the terminal points on the mother board but the slot or header to plug the SSD into was not there.  Can the slot be installed or added?

@Spmillsy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that there is an M.2 SATA 3 slot on the computer. However, when checking the image you have shared the slot is not available.

I recommend you contact support and they will assist you in this regard.

Here is how you can get in touch with tech support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
