I wanted to add 2x16GB of the Corsair Vengeance Performance DDR SODIMM memory kit to my HP Pavilion 15-Ec0105ax. I was wondering if this was possible? Is the brand and RAM size compatible with my laptop? Alternatively, would the Kingston Fury Impact 2x16GB work?

Hi:

I don't recommend installing performance or gaming memory in your notebook that has a faster CL speed than the standard memory HP installs.

The BIOS cannot adjust to the faster timing specs which results in poor performance or the notebook not booting up at all, and you can't make any manual adjustments in the BIOS to get the memory to work.

If you are in doubt, compare what you want to buy with the specs of the chips I posted below.

Or you can play it safe and buy the compatible memory that Crucial recommends for your notebook.

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

Crucial 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA266 | Crucial.com

Crucial 16GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT16G4SFD824A | Crucial.com

The memory will all run at a max speed of 2400 MHz because that is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

The above memory chips have the standard CL speed that your notebook's memory would use.
