Can I "disable" my battery so I can use my laptop as a workstation without destroying the battery?

I have an HP ENVY 13. I would like to use it as my workstation, that is, have it plugged in all the time, etc.
I know that that would destroy its battery life. But due to the design, I cannot take the battery out. Is there a way in which I can disable the battery (for example in the BIOS?) so it doesn't get destroyed and I don't have to worry?

You have been misinformed -- as having a laptop plugged in all the time does not harm the battery.

I don't think it's that simple...?
I have been hearing my whole life that it destroys the battery.
The crystal in a battery is damaged each time you charge them so would having the laptop plugged in constantly destroy them?
Also, I would like to have someone official confirm this from HP...
