I want to connect my laptop to my new tv,  but the hdmi port seems to be covered by a plastic cover. If possible, how do i remove it? Please help!

What is the model of the laptop? If there is a "cover" then you likely have a version of a model with optional HDMI and yours does not have it.

It is an HP Notebook G71 329WM
