Compaq Presario CQ40-337TU
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi,

Just wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade my processor to the higher one and what processor is compatible with my laptop Compaq CQ40-337TU ?

Current Specs:

Pentium® Dual-Core Mobile Processor T4200 • 2.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB, 35W TDP, Socket P

If it so, can I upgrade it to Core 2 Duo T9500 or T9600 maybe ?? Or there is other option?...

Thanks... 😁

Hi:

It depends on what chipset your notebook has.

Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below, and let me know what chipset it has...GL40 or GM45.

You're very welcome.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Since it has a GM45 chipset, you can upgrade to one of the processors listed in chapter 1.

The T9600 would be the best one you could upgrade to.
